She will lead the Office of Science and Technology Policy to leverage science, technology and innovation to expand our possibilities in these areas, solve our toughest challenges and make the impossible possible. He said that I agree with Dr. Prabhakar’s belief that America has the most powerful innovation machinery the world has ever seen.
Third Asian American to join Biden cabinet
“While the Senate will consider his nomination, I am grateful that Dr. Alondra Nelson will continue to lead OSTP and Dr. Francis Collins will continue to serve as my acting science advisor,” Biden said. Once confirmed, she will also be an Assistant to the President for Science and Technology. If selected to lead the OSTP, Prabhakar will be the third Asian American to join the Biden cabinet. Vice President Kamala Harris and US Trade Representative Catherine Tai are already part of the US presidential cabinet.

Aarti Prabhakar is an engineer and physicist. Dr Prabhakar was unanimously elected by the Senate to head the National Institute of Standards and Technology. She was the first woman to serve in this position. He then served as director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where breakthrough technologies such as stealth aircraft and the Internet were born.

Dr Prabhakar served as the Director of DARPA from 2012 to 2017. Here she supervises teams that build systems to detect nuclear and radiological material before terrorists make bombs.
